Pop Quiz: Did “Zoo Mom” Get Off From Being Prosecuted?
The local prosecutor says no charges will be filed against the mother of a little boy who fell into a gorilla enclosure at the Cincinnati Zoo. As we told you before, zookeepers shot and killed a rare lowland gorilla after it dragged the three-year-old boy through a moat late last month. The boy climbed over a barrier around the exhibit and then fell into the moat.
Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph Deters says the mother did not act in any way that was harmful to the boy. He added when a child scampers away, it’s not foreseeable that he’ll fall into a gorilla encampment. The Zoo says it’s modifying the barrier around the exhibit, which is set to re-open tomorrow.
