Legends on the Mic: BigMMike’s Fight & Kendrick’s Grammy Sweep ( The Rewind For Feb 3rd)
Ray of Light : Vacation Planning
Big Mmmike
BigMMike has been the voice of Madtown for two generations—the original Radio Killa, a legend on the mic. But now, he’s in the fight of his life, battling kidney disease and in need of a transplant. That’s why we’re rallying behind him with A Gift of Life: A Green Carpet Affair, happening Sunday, March 2nd, from 4 PM to 9 PM at The Hub (2352 S Park St, Madison, WI).
This isn’t just about raising money—it’s about raising awareness. Kidney disease disproportionately affects Black and Brown communities, and early detection saves lives. That’s why the event will offer free, non-invasive kidney screenings, alongside a night of live entertainment, a silent auction, and a gourmet four-course meal by Chef Mac.
Madison, let’s show up for our own. BigMMike has been there for us—now it’s time to be there for him.
Kendrick Lamar Dominates the 2025 Grammys: A Night to Remember
The 2025 Grammys belonged to one man—Kendrick Lamar. His hit track Not Like Us didn’t just win; it took over. With a clean sweep of the night’s biggest categories, Kendrick cemented his legacy as one of the most influential rappers of our time.
Kendrick’s Grammy Sweep
Lamar walked away with every major award:
- Song of the Year
- Record of the Year
- Best Rap Performance
- Best Rap Song
- Best Music Video
That’s right, a full sweep. Even DJ Mustard, who produced Not Like Us, called for a broom, acknowledging the complete domination.
A Moment for the Culture
Diana Ross herself handed Kendrick the Song of the Year trophy, and he took the opportunity to remind the industry of hip-hop’s power. “At the end of the day, nothing’s more powerful than rap music. We are the culture,” he declared. And let’s be honest—he’s right. His win wasn’t just a personal victory; it was a testament to rap’s dominance and influence in the industry.
The Competition Was Stacked
Kendrick’s win wasn’t a walk in the park. He was up against some serious contenders:
Shaboozey – A Bar Song (Tipsy)Billie Eilish – Birds of a FeatherLady Gaga & Bruno Mars – Die With A SmileTaylor Swift & Post Malone – FortnightChappell Roan – Good Luck, Babe!Sabrina Carpenter – Please Please PleaseBeyoncé – Texas Hold ‘Em
With such a loaded lineup, Kendrick’s sweep only proves how Not Like Us transcended genres and dominated airwaves.
The 2025 Grammys: What You Didn’t See On TV
The 2025 Grammys brought the usual mix of iconic performances, unexpected wins, and emotional speeches, but the real action? That happened off camera. From Taylor Swift’s champagne-fueled celebrations to Chappell Roan’s unplanned tumble, here’s everything that went down behind the scenes.
Beyoncé’s History-Making Win and A-List Support Squad
Beyoncé took home Album of the Year for Cowboy Carter, officially cementing her legacy as the most decorated artist in Grammy history. Before she even stepped on stage, Lady Gaga and Cynthia Erivo were seen clasping hands, hoping for her victory like it was a sacred moment. When the announcement finally came, the entire arena erupted, and Jay-Z found himself at the center of the celebration. Will Smith, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, and a host of industry insiders rushed over to congratulate him.
Taylor Swift: The Ultimate Grammy Party Starter
Taylor Swift was not just at the Grammys; she was the Grammys. From toasting Jay-Z with a glass of bubbly to dancing like nobody was watching (except, of course, everyone was), she kept the energy high. She even made sure Cynthia Erivo had a prime seat at the start of the show.
And let’s talk about Charli XCX’s closing performance—where bras and panties literally rained from the ceiling. Swift, champagne bottle in hand, was spotted dancing through the entire performance.
Chappell Roan’s Award-Worthy Tumble
The award for Best Unintentional Comedy? That goes to Chappell Roan, who tripped and fell into a Grammy guest on her way back to her seat. But like a true star, she dusted herself off, walked it off, and then took home the Best New Artist award with an inspiring speech about fair wages for up-and-coming musicians.
The Moments That Didn’t Make The Broadcast
From Shakira shaking the stage (her hips still don’t lie) to Billie Eilish rocking out with Taylor, the night was packed with superstar moments that didn’t get the primetime spotlight. Whether it was Beyoncé slipping into her seat just in time for Chappell Roan’s Pink Pony Club standing ovation or Lady Gaga blowing kisses to Alicia Keys d uring her speech, the real magic happened between the award presentations.
One thing’s for sure—the 2025 Grammys weren’t just about the winners on stage; the true show was unfolding all around them.
