Summer in Madtown is about to get a whole lot hotter as the Madison Mallards gear up for their 25th anniversary season—and it all kicks off Memorial Day Monday! DJ Fusion from 93.1 JAMZ sat down with Mallards Team Manager Donnie Scott and Director of Community Engagement Sam Nelson to talk baseball, bouncy houses, and bringing people together through sports, music, and fun.

All Gas, No Brakes: Donnie’s Ready to Win

Donnie Scott isn’t here to play around. The veteran team manager is focused on chemistry over competition this year. With college athletes joining fresh off their spring seasons, he only gets a couple of days to bring the team together before the first pitch. “It’s all about the clubhouse vibe,” says Donnie. “We keep the energy right with music and let the players bring the heat on the field.”

Community First: What’s New at the Duck Pond

Sam Nelson is leading the charge to make Mallards games a must-do for the entire city. “Our goal is to make Madison a better place,” she says, and it shows. This year, fans can expect:

• A Human Claw Machine—yep, you become the claw and grab your own prize
• The World’s Largest Plinko Board—bounce your way to cool giveaways
• New stadium snacks like giant pretzels and THC-infused drinks for the adults

Memorial Day Madness and Beyond

The 2025 season kicks off on Monday, May 26th at 4 PM, with gates opening at 3 PM. Expect games, giveaways, inflatables for the kids, and an electric stadium vibe that only the Mallards can provide. With tickets starting at just $10, it’s the most affordable fun in town.

This summer, Madison is also hosting the Northwoods League All-Star Game in mid-July, and Donnie’s determined to coach it—if the team can clinch the first half of the season. “We’ve got to earn it,” he says. “But we’re ready.”
