Is 50 Cent Playing Balrog? Rapper Fuels “Street Fighter” Reboot Rumors

50 Cent might be leveling up from rap battles to arcade beatdowns. The rapper and entertainment mogul is fueling serious buzz around the upcoming Street Fighter live-action reboot after hinting at a possible role as Balrog, the notorious boxing villain from the iconic video game franchise.

On June 23, 50 shared a post about the rumors to his Instagram, adding the caption: “No Days Off, Let’s Work. All roads lead to Shreveport.” That shoutout to the film’s speculated production hub only intensified the chatter.

Balrog, introduced in Street Fighter II, is a disgraced heavyweight champion turned ruthless enforcer for the evil Shadaloo syndicate. Known for his savage strength and zero moral compass, he’s long been a fan-favorite villain. And with 50 Cent’s gritty acting chops—from Get Rich or Die Tryin’ to his empire-building Power series—he could bring Balrog’s brute force and menace to life in a way no one else can.

While the studio hasn’t confirmed the casting, multiple sources say talks are in motion. If sealed, this would be a major win for the reboot and a fresh chapter in 50’s already loaded resume.
