Madison’s biggest food and music festival is about to get even louder. Taste of Madison 2025 hits Capitol Square on August 30–31, and this year’s East Washington corner will feature the Playtopia DIY Festival Stage, curated by none other than DJ Fusion of 93.1 JAMZ.

For the first time, Fusion is bringing together a powerhouse lineup of Madison’s top DJs—DJ Chamo, VPS (Vilas Park Sniper), Mike Carlson, DJ Andre, and DJ Fabulove—to give Taste of Madison a true culture-shifting soundtrack.

A New Era for DJs at Taste of Madison

Taste of Madison hasn’t traditionally been a DJ-heavy event, but Fusion says the vibe is changing:

“It’s going to be a more experience-based Taste this year. I’m hyped to be back with a DIY-style festival stage and some of my best friends—who just happen to be some of Madison’s best DJs.”

From Latin rhythms to funk and soul classics, from R&B grooves to hip-hop cuts, the stage will showcase the full spectrum of DJ culture.

Meet the DJs Rocking the Stage

• DJ Chamo – Known for last year’s fan-favorite Salsa at Sunset closer, Chamo promises another Latin-inspired set featuring reggaeton, salsa, merengue, bachata, and Afro-Latin house.

• DJ Andre – Making his Taste debut, Andre brings an open-format style blending hip-hop, R&B, house, and even reggaeton.

• VPS (Vilas Park Sniper) – A Madison staple, VPS will deliver funk, soul, and classic hip-hop for the true heads.

• DJ Fabulove – A 20-year collaborator with Fusion, Fabulo will bring disco, funk, and heavy R&B vibes: “It’s backyard barbecue energy—family-style music for the city.”

• Mike Carlson – The godfather of Madison’s DJ scene and former MC Audio record store owner, Carlson is ready to drop funk, soul, and roots reggae, the sounds that shaped generations of Madison DJs.

More Than Music: An Interactive Experience

This year’s DIY Festival Stage is designed to be more interactive than ever. Expect crowd engagement through visuals, photo sharing, live branding, and a true block party atmosphere in the heart of the city.
