Prosecutors Push For Diddy To Serve Over A Decade As Cassie Warns Of Retaliation

Prosecutors want Sean “Diddy” Combs sentenced to more than a decade behind bars. In new court filings, they pushed for at least 135 months in prison along with a $500,000 fine. The request comes after his July conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. Although he avoided convictions on the more serious racketeering and sex trafficking charges, Diddy still faces up to 20 years in prison.

The filing also included a victim statement from Cassie Ventura, who said she fears swift retaliation if Diddy walks free. Cassie stressed her testimony was rooted in the truth of her lived experience, even if the jury didn’t fully accept it. Prosecutors argue her statement underscores why he should serve serious time.

Diddy’s defense team has a very different view, urging the judge to cap his sentence at 14 months. They argue he’s paid his dues, deserves to be home with his family, and should be allowed to focus on treatment. They’ve even submitted celebrity character letters to bolster their case.

The final decision comes October 3, when the judge rules on whether Diddy goes home soon or serves over a decade in federal prison.
