Playboi Carti Accused Of Threatening To Shoot Driver During Utah Assault Incident

Playboi Carti’s name is back in headlines for all the wrong reasons. According to newly released police dispatch audio, the rapper allegedly threatened to shoot a limousine driver and assaulted another while in Utah for tour rehearsals. The 30 year old artist, real name Jordan Carter, was cited for misdemeanor assault after reportedly striking driver Carl Reynolds during an argument involving his girlfriend, Giovanna Ramos, on October 2 in Park City.

However, dispatch audio obtained paints a more alarming picture. Officers reported that Carti threatened to “hit and shoot” another driver, Lance Hayes, before leaving the scene. Police later found Carti nearby and issued a citation, but no charges were initially filed in connection to the threat. Now, court records from Wasatch County show that formal charges were officially filed on October 9. He is scheduled to appear in court this December.

This isn’t the first time Carti has faced legal trouble. His history includes multiple assault allegations, firearm and drug possession arrests, and a 2022 felony aggravated assault charge involving his then pregnant girlfriend. Each case has added tension to his reputation, often clashing with his image as one of hip hop’s more mysterious and rebellious figures.

As of now, Carti’s legal team has not made a statement, and the rapper himself remains silent while continuing his tour. With dispatch audio circulating online, the court date ahead could shape not only his immediate future but his standing in the industry. Fans and critics alike are watching closely to see whether this latest chapter ends in redemption or another fall from grace.
