Rod Wave Arrested on Weapon and Drug Accusations in Atlanta

Rod Wave has once again found himself in legal trouble. The St. Petersburg native was arrested in Atlanta Friday on multiple charges including possession of a firearm during a felony, reckless driving, and possession of controlled substances. According to TMZ, he was booked in Fulton County Jail and remains in custody on an 8,000 dollar bond.

His lawyers Drew Findling, Marissa Goldberg, and Zack Findling claim the arrest was unlawful, arguing that Rod was unjustly profiled by the Atlanta Police Department’s controversial Crime Suppression Unit. The legal team says this group is notorious for its quota driven tactics and aggressive approach to policing. They believe Rod was targeted for who he is, not what he did.

The arrest adds another chapter to Rod’s ongoing legal drama. Earlier this year, he faced accusations of firing a gun at his Atlanta area home and attempting to flee before police arrived. He’s also dealt with firearm charges in Florida and a 2022 arrest tied to a domestic dispute that was later dropped. Despite all that, Rod has continued to dominate the charts with emotional, soul heavy tracks that connect deeply with fans.

Now, as his attorneys prepare to challenge what they call an unlawful arrest, the spotlight’s back on Rod for all the wrong reasons. Whether this turns into a long court battle or a quick dismissal, one thing’s clear—the pressure around the star keeps building.
