The Blast Muay Thai presents Kicks for Kids

The Blast Muay Thai Kickboxing Gym Joins Forces with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County to Empower Youth

The Blast Muay Thai Kickboxing Gym (owned and operated by one of the Founding members and V.P. of the Urban Community Arts Network) is proud to announce its strategic partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County, a long-standing organization committed to fostering the potential of every child since 1966.

Recognizing the crucial role of positive adult role models in a child’s development, Big Brothers Big Sisters creates meaningful, one-to-one mentoring matches between dedicated adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”) aged 6 through 18. In Dane County, where many youths lack access to influential mentors, The Blast Muay Thai Kickboxing Gym is rallying behind the cause. The fallout from recent challenges, exacerbated by the pandemic, has disproportionately affected the youth in the program.

However, research underscores the transformative impact of mentorship, especially during times of crisis, on the lives of young individuals. Currently, there are nearly 200 kids on the waitlist in Dane County eagerly seeking mentors. To address this pressing need, The Blast Muay Thai Kickboxing Gym is launching “Kicks for Kids,” a fundraising initiative aimed at recruiting additional mentors and reducing the existing waitlist.

On December 16, The Blast Muay Thai students and staff will unite for a dynamic “kick-a-thon” event, committing to one kick per dollar raised. The ambitious goal is to secure $10,000 in donations by the specified date, translating to an impressive 10,000 kicks collectively from the team. The funds raised through this initiative will be instrumental in bolstering mentor recruitment efforts and making a tangible impact on the lives of young individuals in Dane County.

Join The Blast Muay Thai Kickboxing Gym in making a difference and supporting the community’s youth by contributing to “Kicks for Kids.” Every dollar brings us one step closer to empowering the next generation.
